Its Geese Poop
Hello Patrons,
Many of you have been asking why the "dog poop" and the "duck poop" is around on the beach. It is actually geese poop from our great friends the Canadian Geese. This has been a problem for the past couple of years at the beach. The geese like open areas and love our beach even more. We would like to set your mind at ease. It is not something to be worried about, it does not create problems with the bacteria levels in the water. Our water is tested throughout the summer and we have never had a problem in the past with bacteria in the water. Last summer it was tested an extra time due to our growing concerns about the geese poop, however, it did not change anything. We try our best to clean off the docks and the grounds, but with so many other duties that the staff have to take care of first it is difficult.
Thank you for your concern, but don't worry, it is not harmful (to our knowledge, at least less than duck). We have tried several ways to get the geese to go away but they always come back so this is a problem that we will have to deal with unless we can think of a better solution.
